In recent years, investments in energy efficiency (EE) and energy conservation (EC) projects have shown great promise. This is due to the rapid growth in energy demand and consumption across industrial and commercial sectors. EE investments offer substantial opportunities for industries to enhance competitiveness by achieving energy cost savings through innovative technologies, while also creating employment opportunities through the adoption of international best practices.
The Government reinforces its commitment by extending the Green Investment Tax Allowance and Green Income Tax Exemption until 2023. The National Energy Transition Roadmap (NETR) is a comprehensive plan that outlines Malaysia’s efforts towards achieving a sustainable and inclusive energy system. NETR is crucial in navigating the complexity of energy transition on a large scale, especially the shift from a traditional fossil fuel-based economy to a high-value green economy.
