Electrical Products

The electrical products sub-sector is an indispensable asset to the country’s economy and a key component needed to generate synergy between various sectors and empowers a wide variety of businesses. This sub-sector covers the manufacturing of electrical products and renewable energy devices such as electronic motors, generators, transformers, distribution apparatuses, switches, solar cells, modules and balance of systems.

The current trend of the industry has shifted towards producing innovative and higher value-added products featuring industry 4.0 elements. For example, IoT-embedded electrical products such as smart assets monitoring – switchgear and smart metering.

We welcome investments particularly those producing higher value-added products, with an emphasis on product quality, R&D activities, cost-effectiveness and can contribute to the adoption of new technologies.

System Integrators

Many Malaysian domestic players produce electrical products to support TNB, the main energy provider in the country. Notably, Malaysia has successfully developed an integrated ecosystem of solar-based products with the presence of major global players in the country. Six out of 10 of the world’s largest solar PV companies operate in Malaysia. This includes First Solar, SunPower, LONGi, JA Solar, Jinko Solar and Hanwha Q Cells.
