REVISION TO INVESTOR PASS APPLICATIONS NOTICE
MIDA has streamlined the Investor Pass application process to better facilitate foreign investment in Malaysia. Effective 13 March 2026, the “Type of Existing Investor” category has been officially removed. This strategic update is designed to streamline service delivery, align with current Investor Pass policies and uphold national security and regulatory compliance.
Moving forward, the Investor Pass is strictly designated for the following two categories:
New Investor – Potential investors who have no investment record in Malaysia.
Investor in Pipeline – Potential investors who have expressed interest and in negotiations with the Government of Malaysia.
Existing Investors with an established investment track record and ownership in companies registered with the Companies Commission of Malaysia (SSM), kindly refer to the announcement on 11 March 2026 via https://esd.imi.gov.my/portal/latest-news/announcement/announcement-271/
