As Malaysia advances its industrial transformation agenda, strengthening the capabilities of local suppliers and SMEs remains essential for building resilient domestic supply chains and increasing their participation in global manufacturing networks. In support of this effort, MIDA, in collaboration with Daikin Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. and the Selangor Human Resource Development Centre (SHRDC), organised the MIDA–Daikin Supply Chain Programme (Awareness Session) in Shah Alam, Selangor.

The programme brought together over 100 participants, including local SMEs, Daikin’s ecosystem partners, financial institutions and government agencies. Through expert presentations and knowledge-sharing sessions, participants gained practical insights into supplier requirements, smart manufacturing, digital transformation, sustainable supply chain practices and financing solutions to support business growth and capability upgrading.

The initiative also highlighted the importance of talent development and industry collaboration in accelerating industrial transformation. Participants toured SHRDC’s facilities, gaining first-hand exposure to automation, digitalisation and Industry 4.0 applications that help enhance operational efficiency and competitiveness.

The programme reflects MIDA’s continued commitment to strengthening stronger domestic industrial ecosystem by connecting Malaysian companies with multinational corporations and enabling greater participation in high-value industries. Through initiatives such as the Supply Chain Programme, Grow Local, the Enterprise Growth Platform (EGP) and the #InvestLokal campaign, MIDA continues to strengthen local capabilities in support of the New Industrial Master Plan 2030.
