With the rapid development of technology in recent times, the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) has become a new buzz word. There has been a lot of talk in the marketplace on the various 4IR technologies available and why it is critical for companies to embrace 4IR. In this seminar, we will be taking a closer look at the opportunities and risks that 4IR present for organisations.

Speaker’s profile Lih Jiun has more than 20 years of experience in taxation and is also the Government Grants & Incentives Tax Leader. She has successfully assisted numerous clients with their tax planning, applications and negotiations for tax incentives and grants with the Malaysian Government to maximise utilisation of available tax benefits. Lih Jiun holds a Master’s Degree of Business Administration (Finance) from University Putra Malaysia and a Bachelor’s Degree of Science (Finance) from University of Nebraska, Lincoln, U.S.A. She is also a member of the Chartered Tax Institute of Malaysia (CTIM). Thin Siew Chi Siew Chi has more than 16 years of experience in both corporate tax compliance and tax advisory work. She has served local and multinational clients engaged in a wide range of industries. Her tax advisory experience includes advising on various financial and business transactions, advising on and assisting with applications for tax incentives, international tax planning on cross border transactions (inbound and outbound investments), structuring of mergers and acquisitions, group restructuring exercises and tax due diligence work. Siew Chi holds a Bachelor Degree of Commerce (specialising in Accounting and Finance) from University of Melbourne, Australia. She is also a member of CPA Australia, Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA), and Chartered Tax Institute of Malaysia (CTIM). Tan Eng Yew Eng Yew has over 25 years of experience in customs, excise, sales and service tax. Eng Yew currently advises clients on indirect tax matters. He has a working relationship and liaison with various authorities including the Ministry of International Trade and Industry, the Royal Customs and Excise Department, the Malaysian Industrial Development Authority and the Ministry of Finance. Eng Yew is an active contributor and member of the Chartered Tax Institute of Malaysia (CTIM)’s Technical and Public Practice Committee, Examination Committee and also GST committee. He also serves as a member of the FMM Customs and Indirect Tax Committee. Ranga Jaganathan Ranga is a Director in the Deloitte’s Supply Chain practice. He has 17 years of experience helping clients in Asia Pacific and North America across industries like consumer products, manufacturing and retail. He has led multiple engagements in in the areas of supply chain transformation, integrated business planning, network strategy and inventory optimisation leveraging analytics and digital capabilities. Muhundhan Kamarapullai Muhundhan (Muhu) comes with 20 years of experience that spans the domains of entrepreneurship, education, healthcare, technology management and organisational capability development. He’s also a trained Project Management Professional, Information Security Lead Auditor and Certified Professional Marketer. At MDEC, he leads the digital adoption ecosystem team, which spearheads the growth of the domestic landscape, eventually helping more Malaysian businesses embrace digital adoption and innovation. Muhu mentors in several local and international programmes and speaks in related conferences. He graduated from University Putra Malaysia with BSc. Biotechnology and MSc. Corporate Communications. Jeyasigan Nair Jeyasigan has 29 years of experience with MIDA serving in various divisions. He was also involved in various bilateral and regional FTA negotiations on investment for Malaysia. His current role, among others, includes identifying trends, business, and new and emerging technology suitable for the Malaysian industry and business environment. He is also also responsible to conduct strategic policies and overseeing the developing of new technology clusters/ecosystem and; develop and sustaining the strategic roadmap which includes new and emerging technology values of the selected industry and business sectors. In addition, as part of his role with MIDA, he provides support in coordinating and linking local and foreign research institutions within the industry.
