Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA) in collaboration with Malaysian Batik Association, Yayasan Budi Penyayang Malaysia (PENYAYANG), Federation of Malaysian Fashion Textiles & Apparels (FMFTA), and Kraftangan Malaysia will be organizing BATIK WEEK 2021 with the theme “Revitalising the Malaysian Batik Industry”. The main objectives of the event are:

• To promote the understanding and appreciation of Batik as Malaysia national heritage.
• To discuss how the Malaysian Batik Industry can embrace technology in the process of batik making without doing away with the resist element.
• To deliberate on how to make batik industry eco-friendly.
• To explore how technology can be applied to the processes involved in batik making in keeping with Malaysian IR4.0 initiative.
• To explore the opportunities of investment in diversifying Batik products.
