UMW Aerospace

UMW Aerospace Sdn Bhd’s main core business is to manufacture and assemble fan cases for Rolls-Royce aero engines, with a 25 + 5 year contract with Rolls-Royce Plc, making it the first Malaysian company to be a Tier-1 aerospace engine component manufacturer. These products are being manufactured in a highly-equipped plant in Serendah, Malaysia to complement its counterpart, the Rolls-Royce engine assembly plant in Singapore.

A combination of skilled workforce made up of engineers, highly trained workers and dedicated management personnel with a good eye for the aerospace manufacturing industry, have since been running this operation. In order to build a full range of feeder networks in South East Asia, the China Shipping Group Company decided to move its South East Asian Regional Headquarters from Singapore to Malaysia. The dual purpose of this relocation is to link Westport, Port Kelang with ASEAN countries and also to be more involved in marketing activities in Malaysia. China Shipping was ranked second among the main line operators in Westport, Port Kelang in 2005.
