MIDA Strengthens Grassroots Ties through Santuni MADANI CSR Programme in Kampung Cegar

In the spirit of inclusivity and compassion under the MADANI framework, MIDA carried out another impactful Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative with the community of Kampung Cegar in Bidor, Perak on 21–22 September 2025.

Organised in collaboration with Kelab MIDA, Koperasi MIDA (KOMIDA), and Kelab Golf MIDA — with the active participation of MIDA staff — the two-day programme reaffirmed the agency’s ongoing commitment to meaningful community engagement through the Santuni MADANI initiative. The event received strong support from the Village Residents’ Committee of Kampung Cegar, ensuring that the effort was truly community-driven from start to finish.

Speaking at the event, Datuk Sikh Shamsul Ibrahim Sikh Abdul Majid, Chief Executive Officer of MIDA, highlighted the importance of aligning national development goals with grassroots needs:

“MIDA is not only entrusted with attracting high-quality investments to Malaysia, but also with uplifting the social and economic wellbeing of local communities. Our CSR programme in Kampung Cegar reflects our determination to connect with the grassroots, address real community needs, and ensure that the nation’s development is inclusive and people-centred.”

The weekend was filled with vibrant community-focused activities that brought together more than 400 villagers and MIDA volunteers. Highlights included the Rasa-Rasa Kampung Kita food fair, free health screenings, a village clean-up, entrepreneurship briefings, and a variety of fun community events from outdoor movie screenings, friendly football and netball matches, to traditional ‘sukaneka’ rakyat games. These activities not only fostered stronger bonds between MIDA and the villagers but also created valuable platforms for knowledge-sharing and community empowerment.

By combining meaningful engagement with practical support, MIDA’s Santuni MADANI initiative in Kampung Cegar exemplifies how corporate responsibility can contribute to stronger and more resilient communities. The initiative not only created immediate social impact but also reinforced long-term ties between MIDA and the local community.

“TAPAK has made business easier by managing all the facilities and marketing. We can focus more on providing better quality to our customers,” says Faiz FANADA.

For MIDA, this is economic development at the grassroots level, creating real pathways for income generation, testing innovation in the F&B sector, and stimulating night economy—all from a plot of land.
