TKR Manufacturing to increase investment in Melaka, says Ab Rauf

14 Jul 2022

TKR Manufacturing (M) Sdn Bhd (TKR Manufacturing) is planning to increase its investment in Melaka, said Senior State Executive Councillor (Exco) for Investment, Industry and Entrepreneur Development Datuk Seri Ab Rauf Yusoh.

He said the investment would involve increasing the production division at the plant, located in the Tangga Batu Industrial Area, which would create about 300 new jobs in the state.

“The factory, which started operations in 1988, currently has 1,700 employees with 1,190 of them being local workers and it is heading towards Industry Revolution 4.0 (IR4.0) by enhancing the knowledge and skills of local workers.

“This factory focuses on the production of various electronic products, generating a return of RM360 million a year,” he told reporters here today.

Earlier, he accompanied the Yang Di-Pertua Negeri of Melaka Tun Mohd Ali Rustam who spent about two hours visiting the plant.

Also present were TKR Manufacturing managing director Paul Nallasamy and Pantai Kundor State Assemblyman Tuminah Kadi.

Ab Rauf said he was proud of the fact that TKR Manufacturing’s parent company in Tokyo, Japan had given its full trust to the local company to manage the Melaka plant fully.

“With the local Melaka leadership, they have managed to increase production and revenue for the company,” he said.
