Copper wires and rods manufacturer Ta Win Holdings Bhd will be investing up to RM20mil to establish the first local privately-owned electron beam irradiation plant in Malaysia.
In a statement, Ta Win said its subsidiary, Cyprium Wire Technology Sdn Bhd (CWT), had entered into a sales and consultancy agreement with CGN Dasheng Electron Accelerator Technology Co Ltd (CGN Dasheng) to purchase the electron beam irradiation systems from CGN Dasheng for US$1.03mil (RM4.24mil).
CGN Dasheng would also advise the company on project consultation and management on design, technical, civil engineering and structural as well as operating and maintenance aspects of the new plant at Ta Win’s existing manufacturing facilities at Alor Gajah industrial estate in Melaka.
Ta Win group managing director Datuk Seri Ngu Tieng Ung (pic) said the establishment of the plant would allow its subsidiary to manufacture and supply polymer insulated and sheathed electrical wire and cable products for a wide range of industries.
