Road2Growth programme to help spur technology development among businesses
23 May 2022
Malaysian Technology Development Corporation (MTDC) is committed to increasing technology development among businesses through the Road2Growth (R2G) programme via a collaboration with technology firms in the MTDC ecosystem.
Technology development division director Mohammad Farish Nizar Othman said the programme, which had been conducted in Kota Kinabalu and Kuching on March 21 and 23, 2022, was being continued here, the third location, today to expand its coverage to the northern region.
“Participants include graduates, researchers, micro, small and medium enterprises, as well as startups. This year’s programme is more towards the sharing of local technology products and solutions by MTDC ecosystem companies.
“It has been proven that the usage of technology can increase productivity, reduce costs and increase a company’s revenue,” he told a media conference after visiting the exhibition by eight MTDC ecosystem companies as part of the R2G programme today.
Mohammad Farish said graduates participating in the programme would benefit from Industry 4.0 adoption and digitalisation, thus raising the quality of local talent and adding value to learning quality for their future use.
On the eight MTDC ecosystem companies that showcased their products and services at today’s programme, he said they included companies involved in the fields of robotics technology, automation, 3D printing, augmented reality, and drone technology.
He noted that the companies were also members of the Centre of 9 Pillars(Co9P) community, whose objective was to bring together Industry 4.0 companies in Malaysia for collaborations.
“MTDC also wants to develop the Co9P network outside the Klang Valley, particularly in Sabah, Sarawak, Johor, Terengganu and Penang. We will also invite local entrepreneurs to be Co9P business partners.
“Through this hub network, small and medium entrepreneurs would have the opportunity to collaborate and expand their business network to increase the solutions and technologies that can be applied in their businesses,” he added.
