Penang records highest E&E exports at RM32.7 bln in June 2022

Penang recorded the highest exports of electrical and electronics (E&E) products worth RM32.7 billion in June 2022, followed by Selangor (RM6.6 billion) and Johor (RM5.8 billion).
In a statement today, the Department of Statistics (DoSM) said the three states represent the top E&E exporters in the country.
Overall, DoSM said Penang recorded a 55.7 per cent increase in exports to RM45.6 billion during the month under review, while imports rose 53.9 per cent to RM27.1 billion.
“Among the top five major exporting states, Penang remained the top exporter with a share of 31.2 per cent, followed by Johor (24.0 per cent), Selangor (16.9 per cent), Sarawak (8.5 per cent) and Kuala Lumpur (3.9 per cent).
“As for imports, Selangor was the largest contributor with a share of 26.4 per cent, followed by Johor (22.7 per cent), Penang (21.9 per cent), Kuala Lumpur (9.4 per cent) and Kedah (4.9 per cent),” DoSM said.
