MRC to promote made-in-Malaysia halal gloves at Mihas 2022

07 Sep 2022

The Malaysian Rubber Council (MRC) will be promoting made-in-Malaysia halal gloves in the Malaysia International Halal Showcase 2022 (Mihas 2022) from Sept 7 to 10, 2022, which will be held at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre, alongside other agricultural commodity agencies under the Ministry of Plantation Industries and Commodities.

MRC will be promoting rubber gloves under the category of medical gloves, disposable gloves and food handling gloves, which comply with stringent international standards with high-quality consistency and are competitively priced.

According to CEO Nor Hizwan Ahmad, the company believes the promotion of halal gloves throughout the four-day exhibition will assist in further growing the usage of rubber gloves and at the same time, create and widen awareness of the implementation of the halal economy within the made-in-Malaysia halal gloves to the general public.

“We look forward to the active participation from all exhibitors and trade visitors across the globe at Mihas 2022 and, together, we will steer initiatives and actions to enhance the global halal economy,” added Nor Hizwan.

Mihas was first commenced in 2004 and has evolved into a robust platform for both domestic and international companies to prosper in the halal market and make a significant contribution to the global halal economy.

In this year’s edition, a significant emphasis will be placed on innovation and sustainability initiatives to spearhead steady growth for the halal economy. Mihas 2022 is set to be held both physically and virtually, where exhibitors and trade visitors from various geographical backgrounds and time zones will be able to participate.

The focus will be on the ethical consumption perspective of individuals and organisations who place a significant emphasis on the utilisation of halal products.

In order to cater to the ethical consumption perspective of individuals and organisations who place a significant emphasis on the utilisation of halal products, Malaysian rubber glove manufacturers have embarked on registering rubber gloves with the Malaysian Islamic Development Department.

This certification provides for an increased level of confidence for Muslim end-users, who comprise 1.8 billion people, making up almost 25% of the world population.

MRC views Mihas as one of the premier platforms which is able to provide an upper hand to uplift and showcase Malaysian rubber gloves in the global halal market and the overwhelming opportunity for the rubber gloves to penetrate the global halal market while also educating the general public to increase awareness and drive buy-in.
