Metronic Global partners Singapore’s JFSM to develop ‘smart factories’

Metronic Global Bhd has entered into a collaborative project with Singapore’s JF Strategic Management Pte Ltd (JFSM) to develop what it termed “smart factories” and “space optimisation”.

In a bourse exchange filing, Metronic said its wholly-owned Metronic Smart Tech entered the collaborative project vide a letter of intent (LOI) with JFSM, which specialises in providing “total solution based” services to clients, particularly in advance metrology solutions, robotic automation and process control, automated storage solutions and material handling systems.

The project has a gross value of up to US$15 million (equivalent to about RM62.25 million), it said. Its scope of works include the development of digital factory for plating processes, implementation of radio shuttle pallet storage system and vertical lift module for an entire warehouse, and the development and building of SMART warehouse for the storage of scaffolds and construction material, with a customised automated storage and retrieval system.

Under the collaboration, Metronic will be responsible for importing technologies, resources, as well as providing financial support, while JFSM will assume overall responsibility in securing projects for the partners.

“The proposed collaboration will enable Metronic to expand its business opportunities and explore the international market,” Metronic said.
