Melaka targets RM500 mln in investments from Sarajevo Business Forum

20 May 2022

Melaka aims to draw over RM500 million in investments from three Europe-based companies after the state government’s participation in the Sarajevo Business Forum 2022 (SBF 2022) on May 11 during its recent visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina and Switzerland.

Chief Minister Datuk Seri Sulaiman Md Ali said up to now, the state has managed to attract new investments worth about RM210 million from two companies which are in the cosmetics and mechanical device industries.

“During the forum, a few companies expressed interest in investing in the state. Two companies have agreed to invest in the state and that is being facilitated by the Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA), which was also present at the forum,” he told reporters in Banda Hilir here today.

Sulaiman revealed that the state government is also actively discussing with a manufacturing company and if successful, it will see a RM300 million investment in Melaka.

“On our part, we have offered a strategic site,” he added.
