Taiwan is harnessing its strength in ICT technologies to assist the metalworking industry by helping the sector plan their digital transformation, said Taiwan Trade Center of Kuala Lumpur director Eva Peng.

In a statement, Peng said Taiwan and Malaysia can cooperate on new solutions and in other areas to upgrade the machinery industry.

Meanwhle, the Federation of Malaysian Manufacturers (FMM) digital economy working committee vice chairman Dr Helena Eian Yeut Lan said that Taiwan is well-positioned to take the lead role in Industry 4.0 development and implementation.

“To embrace Industry 4.0, a closer cooperation between Malaysia and Taiwan is expected,” she said.
