FSBM partners Selangor Human Resource Development Centre to research smart manufacturing technologies

08 May 2023

FSBM Holdings Bhd said it is partnering with the Selangor Human Resource Development Centre (SHRDC) to collaborate in application-based research and development of smart manufacturing technologies.

The IT services company said in a statement that its wholly owned subsidiary FSBM MES Elite Sdn Bhd (FMES) and SHRDC will embark on a two-year industry collaboration, designed following SHRDC’s Malaysia Smart Factory 4.0 (MSF4.0) programme and initiative.

In the implementation phase, these two parties will exchange information and share best practices, as well as marketing and promotional activities.

They will also jointly create case studies and white papers demonstrating the successful implementation of smart manufacturing technologies in different industries.

FMES has inked a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with SHRDC for the collaboration, which will also facilitate talent development programs and initiatives through hands-on and competency-based training, FSBM said.

FMES is primarily engaged in the provision of solutions for industry digitalisation transformation, Internet-of-Things (IoT) solution manufacturing execution system integration, and smart manufacturing, FSBM said.

“The cooperation with SHRDC will encourage Malaysian Industries, especially SMEs (small and medium enterprises), to transform to Industrial Revolution 4.0 (IR4.0) and strengthen technological innovation,” said FBSM executive director Pang Kiew Kun in the statement.

FSBM shares closed unchanged at 27.5 sen, valuing the company at RM48.01 million.
