Delta Aerospace, NS Corporation join forces to propel maritime aircraft production

Delta Aerospace Sdn Bhd has joined forces with NS Corporation to strengthen their commitment to maritime aircraft manufacturing, operation, as well as research and development.

Both parties had signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) at the Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition (LIMA) 2023.

The agreement was signed by NS Corporation chairman Datuk Mohamad Rafie Ab Malek and Delta Aerospace chief executive officer Michael Edward Roche.

In a statement, Roche said that it is a privilege to work with NS Corporation, a state statutory entity responsible for Negeri Sembilan’s investment and economic activities, particularly in the Malaysia Vision Valley (MVV) 2.0 initiative.

Roche said as a key participant in the Malaysia MVV 2.0, it is committed to contributing its expertise and resources to ramp up the realisation of the initiative’s vision.

He said that Delta Aerospace’s participation in MVV 2.0 demonstrates the company’s commitment to strengthening collaboration between the public and private sectors and accelerating the development of the seaplane aerospace industry ecosystem.

“We are eager to work closely with NS Corporation, the Malaysian government, and our stakeholders to drive inclusive growth and create a thriving seaplane aerospace ecosystem that benefits all,” he said.

MVV 2.0 is aiming to develop a world-class metropolis to deliver economic impact to Malaysia by attracting international and local investors and creating jobs and business opportunities.

The overall development spans some 38,000 acres of land covering Seremban and Port Dickson.

MVV2.0 will develop NS Aerospace Valley, Integrated Maritime Hub and Waterfront Corridor, Unmanned Vehicle Valley, Tech Park, Smart County, and NS Semiconductor Valley.

Roche said the collaboration with NS Corporation aligns perfectly with the strategic objectives of Delta Aerospace, as it strives to strengthen its position as a leading seaplane player to drive economic growth.

“Together with NS Corporation, Delta Aerospace aims to establish its manufacturing complex in Negri Sembilan State with a focus on manufacturing the 8-seater Heron 8 seaplane,” he said.

Delta Aerospace said it will place the Seaplane Centre of Excellence at the heart of the biggest market for maritime aircraft in the world, especially in the Asia Pacific.

The company emphasised that seaplanes will open new markets within the aviation business, intensify tourism, and accelerate connectivity as well as mobility in the region along with contributing to the country’s social and economic growth.
