AME Elite to build Bucher Emhart Glass’s RM108 mil manufacturing facility in Johor

AME Elite Consortium Bhd’s unit will be building a new manufacturing facility in [email protected] Airport City, Johor for Emhart Glass Sdn Bhd (Bucher Emhart Glass), worth RM108 million.
In a statement on Thursday (Feb 16), AME Elite said the new building facility in the airport city will have a built-up area of approximately 300,000 square feet, which will replace the existing factory at another site in Johor Bahru to increase production capacity.
The construction of the project will commence in the second quarter of 2023 and is scheduled to be completed in 2024.
Bucher Emhart Glass is a subsidiary of Swiss-listed engineering and manufacturing group Bucher Industries AG.
Bucher Emhart Glass supplies glass container manufacturing solutions; including equipment, controls, parts and support. The international group has presence across the globe, including Switzerland, Sweden, Italy, Germany, Singapore, Malaysia, Japan, China and the US.
AME group managing director Kelvin Lee Chai said AME’s integrated industrial parks and properties at [email protected] Airport City continues to attract foreign direct investments (FDI), including from internationally respected blue chip global corporations.
“AME continues its role as an FDI magnet and will benefit from increased demand for our industrial parks as international borders reopen,” said Kelvin.
With this latest contract from Bucher Emhart Glass, AME’s new sales for the financial year to-date increased to RM433 million.
At noon break on Thursday, AME Elite’s share price rose one sen or 0.76% to RM1.32, giving it a market capitalisation of RM845.69 million.
