KAMUNTING, PERAK, 10 AUGUST 2026 – Sheng Long Aqua Technology (M) Sdn.  Bhd. (“Sheng Long”) a subsidiary of Guangdong Haid Group Co., Limited (“Guangdong Haid”) based in China, today celebrated the ground-breaking of its first aquaculture feed manufacturing facility in Malaysia, marking a significant milestone in the Company’s regional expansion and reaffirming its long-term commitment to supporting the growth of Malaysia’s aquaculture industry.

Scheduled to commence operations in 2028, the new facility represents a first-phase investment of approximately RM140 million. It will manufacture high-quality aquaculture feed through equipped with 2 shrimp feed production lines and 2 fish feed production lines, with an annual production capacity of 150,000 metric tonnes. The project is expected to meet the growing demand in Malaysia and neighbouring markets, create more than 100 employment opportunities, and strengthen local manufacturing capabilities and supply chain resilience.

The ceremony was officiated by YB Mr. Teh Kok Lim, Perak State Executive Council  (EXCO) Member for Science, Environment and Green Technology and graced by  distinguished guests including YB Ong Seng Guan (Adun Pokok Assam), Dr. Ahmad  Shahir Bin Abdul Aziz (CEO of InvestPerak), Tuan Mohamed Akmal Bin Dahalan (Yang  Dipertua Majlis Perbandaran Taiping), Puan Surayu Binti Susah, Executive Director of  Manufacturing Development (Resource), Malaysian Investment Development  Authority (MIDA), Puan Nur Baiti Binti Jamalul Karib (Head of Norther Corridor  Implementation Authority Perak State) and Sheng Long’s distribution partners, and  members of the aquaculture community.

YB Mr. Teh Kok Lim stated, “Seng Long’s commitment to invest in Taiping demonstrates confidence not only in the company’s own growth prospects, but also in Perak’s ability to support that growth over the long term. The Perak State Government under the leadership of YAB Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Saarani Mohamad remains committed to facilitating investments, strengthening industry partnerships, and ensuring that Perak remains an attractive destination for both global and domestic investors.”

Datuk Sikh Shamsul Ibrahim Sikh Abdul Majid, CEO of MIDA, said: “Sheng Long’s investment marks a meaningful step forward for our agri-food ecosystem — enhancing local manufacturing capabilities, reducing our reliance on imported feed, and directly reinforcing national food security and supply chain resilience. Beyond its economic contribution, the project will create quality employment, facilitate technology and knowledge transfer, and enhance local expertise in modern manufacturing.”

This investment comes amid sustained momentum in Malaysia’s food manufacturing sector, which attracted RM3.3 billion in approved investments in the first quarter of 2026 — among the leading industries within the RM24.1 billion approved for the manufacturing sector overall. The sector’s continued growth underscores Malaysia’s strengthening position as a regional hub for high-value, resource-based manufacturing and reflects rising investor confidence in the nation’s agri-food ecosystem.

Mr. Chuang Jie Cheng, General Manager of Sheng Long, said: “Through this investment, we aim to provide high-quality aquaculture feed, a more reliable supply chain, and comprehensive technical support to help farmers improve productivity and profitability. The Perak facility will serve as Sheng Long’s key manufacturing and technical service hub in Malaysia. Moving forward, the Company will continue to invest in manufacturing excellence, technological innovation, and talent development while working closely with its local partners to strengthen the industry competitiveness and contribute to Malaysia’s economic growth and the sustainable development of its aquaculture sector.
