MIDA plans on continued strategic integration in Oil & Gas Services and Equipment of Malaysia’s downstream operations to secure demand for Oil & Gas and to capture value across the hydrocarbon chain.

Malaysia is blessed with abundant energy resources, particularly in the oil & gas (Oil & Gas) sector. Oil & Gas continue to be an important sector of Malaysia’s economy, contributing 20.0 per cent to annual GDP.
The Oil & Gas services covers the upstream (Oil & Gas) field services, midstream (transportation and storage), and maintenance of machinery and equipment (Machinery and Equipment).

In 2019, the industry recorded a total of 13 projects approved with the investments of RM3.3 billion. These projects generated a total of 972 job opportunities.

Incentives in the forms of Pioneer Status or Investment Tax Allowance are available for the activity of upgrading or reconditioning of Machinery and Equipment including heavy machinery as well as manufacturing of Machinery and Equipment for the Oil & Gas sector.
