The inaugural Economic & Market Development Conference 2025, held on 28 August at Kulim Golf Club in Kulim Hi-Tech Park (KHTP), brought together more than 400 industry leaders, policymakers, and investors, reinforcing KHTP’s role as Malaysia’s premier high-tech hub.
Jointly organised by MIDA, Kulim Technology Park Corporation (KTPC), and Hong Leong Bank (HLB), the conference marked a key highlight of KHTP’s 30th Anniversary. The full-day event featured keynote addresses, expert discussions, and networking sessions that explored emerging market opportunities, future economic challenges, and strategies for sustainable growth.
Officiated by YB Prof. Dr. Haim Hilman Abdullah, Kedah EXCO for Industry & Investment, the event underscored the importance of federal-state collaboration. MIDA CEO Datuk Sikh Shamsul Ibrahim Sikh Abdul Majid highlighted KHTP’s role in enabling both multinational corporations and SMEs to thrive within global supply chains.
Dato’ Mohd Sahil Zabidi, Group CEO of KTPC, called the collaboration with MIDA and HLB a milestone for industrial players in the Northern Region, while HLB’s Dafinah Ahmed Hilmi emphasised the bank’s commitment to supporting green projects and community growth through its soon-to-open Meet @ HLB branch in KHTP.
The conference concluded with a shared commitment to strengthen public-private partnerships and drive innovation-led economic resilience.
