AME helps spur Jstar Motion’s expansion

09 Sep 2020

AME Elite Consortium Bhd is propelling the expansion of Jstar Motion Sdn Bhd by building its fourth manufacturing facility in i-Park@Indahpura in Johor.

Jstar Motion is a subsidiary of China-based Zhejiang Jiecang Linear Motion Technology Co Ltd (Jiecang), a provider of linear motion systems for intelligent and ergonomic products supplied to prominent corporations and brands worldwide.

The integrated industrial space solution provider said the facility was made to cater to increasing demand for smart technologies used in equipment and appliances in offices, medical facilities, industrial as well as homes.

According to AME, the Jstar Motion’s two plants in i-Park@Indahpura had been completed in the first half of 2020.

The company will complete the third plant in the same industrial park in the first quarter of 2021.

AME said the fourth plant would have a built-up area of 137,629 sq ft, and is targeted to commence construction in November 2020 and be completed in May 2021.

“Jstar Motion’s investments in land and buildings in i-Park@Indahpura amount to over RM100 million, and its total manufacturing built-up area will stand at about 467,800 square feet upon the completion of the fourth plant,” it said.

AME group managing director Kelvin Lee Chai said its i-Parks continue to attract foreign direct investment (FDI) from high-value industries globally, a testament to its capabilities in delivering comprehensive industrial space solutions increasingly in demand by multinational corporations.

“We appreciate Jstar Motion’s choice of i-Park@Indahpura as its first production base in Southeast Asia, complementing its other bases in China and America.

“Jstar Motion has also entrusted us to design and construct all four of its plants on a fast-track basis to cater to expanding business, and we look forward to supporting future requirements,” said Lee.

He said AME was confident that i-Parks would be able to secure even more FDI and domestic customers over the next year.

“This comes as we build on our track record of not only offering quality one-stop solutions amid a conducive industrial resort environment, but also being an experienced growth partner to our clients,” he said.

i-Park@Indahpura, launched in 2011, is an award-winning, gated and guarded full-service industrial park in Johor spanning 205 acres.

It is home to numerous Malaysian and international companies across various industries, including precision engineering, pharmaceutical manufacturing, trading, warehouse/storage, electrical and electronics (E&E) manufacturing, research and development (R&D) and assemblies.

AME is developing two integrated industrial parks in Johor: i-Park@Indahpura (Phase 3) and i-Park@Senai Airport City (Phases 1, 2 and 3).
