The primary aim of a research and development company is to essentially improve the current technologies offered by an organisation or to develop innovations that strengthen and amplifies the organisation’s position in the marketplace. APM Research and Engineering Sdn Bhd (“APMER”) was conceived with the above in mind. Founded in 2010, APMER is a young and dynamic 100% thoroughbred Malaysian company which began as the research and engineering arm of its parent company, namely APM Automotive Holdings Bhd (“APMAH”). With the support of APMAH which has decades of automotive manufacturing experience alongside a large pool of young Malaysian talents, APMER evolved into a full-fledged research and development company and aims to be in the forefront of engineering and innovation excellence. Today, APMER employs a large pool of young and talented Malaysian engineers at its premises in Oasis Ara Damansara, Petaling Jaya, Selangor.

APMER is primarily a research and development company that provides a one-stop centre for engineering design of components, concept evaluation, product testing and development and manufacturing process improvement by providing a range of services that includes packaging study, Computer Assisted Drawing (CAD) and prototyping. Among the end users of APMER’s services are Honda, Toyota, Mazda, Nissan Hyundai, Subaru, Proton, Perodua, Isuzu, Scania, Hino, Fuso and CRRC Rolling Stock Center (M) Sendirian Berhad.

APM 2APMER is a proud Malaysian home grown company. Malaysia has all the necessary resources, support and infrastructure that one would need in order to effectively compete, excel and shine. In 2014, APMER successfully designed for Proton a complete a set of car seats for its Iriz model. In its earlier days, APMER like any other newand aspiring company, experienced a host of obstacles before establishing itself as a reputable research and engineering company that can effectively compete with others for a share of the marketplace. With the support and guidance from the Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA), APMER in this short period has grown to a profitable mid-size emerging company that can contribute towards the development of the automotive industry in Malaysia. One of the facilities provided by MIDA includes the Domestic Investment Strategic Fund (“DISF”) which aided APMER’s acquisition of its testing equipment. Besides, MIDA also grants the double tax reduction for Malaysian companies that engage APMER services.

APMER is in the process of obtaining accreditation from various local and international agencies for the services that it provides. This accreditation will enhance APMER capability to offer locally and internationally recognised testing solutions.
