IPSOS: Malaysians need to adapt fast to new normal for economy to recover

10 Jun 2020

Malaysians need to adapt quickly to the new normal in order for the economy to recover from the fallout caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, according to a recent finding by a market research company, IPSOS.

The findings indicated more than one-third of Malaysians felt they were still in a reaction phase of establishing new routines, whilst their counterparts in many neighbouring countries have adapted to the new way of life.

“More than half of the Malaysian respondents note that they will still feel uncomfortable doing most of the daily activities for the whole of 2020,” said IPSOS in a statement issued here today.

The activities include going to restaurants, visiting friends or family, using public transportation, joining cultural gatherings, going to sports facilities, and travelling both domestically and internationally.

“While in other countries such as Singapore, Vietnam, Thailand, and Indonesia, the majority of the respondents say they are comfortable with doing each of the activities mentioned,” the statement said.
