	<p style="text-align: justify;">Malaysia recorded a higher gross per capita income in 2011 at US$9,700 (RM30,623), up from US$6,700 (RM21,152) in 2010.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">The country’s average gross domestic product has reached RM881 billion while foreign direct investment (FDI) inflows rose 24.9% to RM36.6 billion in 2011 from RM29.3 billion in 2010, Head of the Department of Statistics (DOS), Dr Abdul Rahman Hasan said at a seminar on the role and responsibilities of DOS in Shah Alam, Selangor, yesterday.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Selangor emerged as the top contributor with 131,277 factories out of  a total 662,939 factories in operations throughout the country.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Stressing on the importance of statistics, he said the data collated could assist the Government draw up relevant policies to ensure continuous economic growth.</p>

Malaysia’s per capita income reaches RM30,623

Malaysia recorded a higher gross per capita income in 2011 at US$9,700 (RM30,623), up from US$6,700 (RM21,152) in 2010.

The country’s average gross domestic product has reached RM881 billion while foreign direct investment (FDI) inflows rose 24.9% to RM36.6 billion in 2011 from RM29.3 billion in 2010, Head of the Department of Statistics (DOS), Dr Abdul Rahman Hasan said at a seminar on the role and responsibilities of DOS in Shah Alam, Selangor, yesterday.
