Malaysian technopreneurs stand to benefit from the partnership between Sedania group and Multimedia Development Corp (MDeC) to develop and market their products and services globally.

Sedania Founder and Group Chief Executive Officer, Datuk Azrin Mohd Noor said the tie-up would assist to create opportunities for local technopreneurs to bring forth innovative and new ideas to tap the US$2 trillion (RM6.38 trillion) global technology market.

In doing so, the synergistic arrangement will also accelerate the formation of its World Innovative Team that will help the country achieve a high-income status by 2020.

In a statement issued yesterday, Datuk Azrin said MDeC would recommend potential and credible Malaysian MSC-status companies, specialising in mobile communication, media and the travel industry for Sedania’s assessment.

The selected applicants will then present their ideas to the committee, whose members include commercial and technology experts from Sedania and MDeC.

The approved companies will be eligible for capital injection covering development costs including for hardware and software of up to RM50,000 per applicant, he informed.

Meanwhile, MDeC Chief Executive Officer, Datuk Badlisham Ghazali said the collaboration with Sedania would assist to discover more Malaysian-made technopreneurs and bring forth Malaysian innovations and technologies to the world market.
