Tatt Giap expands operations
Tatt Giap Group Bhd, a stainless steel pipe maker, is investing RM30.6 million to expand its operations this year.
Tatt Giap Group Chairman and President, Datuk Steven Siah Kok Poay said some RM12.2 million has been invested in a warehouse in Shah Alam and another RM3.6 million to buy up a 60% stake in an iron-ore mining company in Kuantan, Pahang while the balance RM15 million will be invested in a new manufacturing plant on a 13-acre site in Valdor Industrial Estate.
Upon completion of the new facility in Valdor, the company will shift its existing eight production lines from its plant in Prai, Penang to the new site as well as add another two production lines there.
The new plant will also make stainless steel fittings for the industrial sector.
The company’s new warehouse in Shah Alam would support its sales and distribution to the central and southern regions, he added.
