The Malaysian Industrial Develop­ment Authority which is in the process of being corporatised and renamed as Malaysian Investment Develop­ment Authority (MIDA), will be able to approve investments of up to RM1billion after relevant amendments are made to the Promotion of Invest­ments Act 1986; Income Tax Act 1967, and the MIDA Act 1965, says Deputy Prime Minister, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.
